The Digital Entertainment Group’s recent report on the entertainment media market shows that overall, sales of pre-recorded media (Blu-Ray discs, DVDs, digital downloads) has dropped 5% since the first quarter of 2008 to .3 billion. Breaking this number down, the study finds that Blu-Ray sales increased 105%, DVDs dropped 14%, and downloads rose 19% in the first quarter of 2009, totaling 0 million, .89 billion, and 7 million respectively.
