LG and Divx Partner to Create 1080p Divx Playback

LG has partnered with DivX to produce more than 200 new digital TVs that are DivX Certified. These TVs are able to play DivX HD 1080p videos, and are the first in the world to be certified to play DivX at this level of definition.

Amazon VOD Offering HD Content

Amazon has officially announced “Instant HD” videos on its online streaming service. Users can now watch a selection of over 500 HD movies and TV shows available on Amazon.com. HD movies are selling for .99 to .99, while an episode of an HD TV shows is selling for .99.

Adobe Pushing Flash Out to the TV

Adobe is going to move out of the internet space and onto our TVs. They have announced that their immensely popular and versatile Flash software, which is used for roughly 80 percent of all internet videos, will move to TVs and Blu-Ray players in the coming year or so.
